With a resume that includes 10 years in the banking and lending sectors and over 20 years managing commercial storage properties on both the East and West Coasts, Marlene runs Mod Movers with strict fiscal discipline. She ensures that every client’s transition is handled not just with care, but with the risk management and organizational standards of a financial institution.

Marlene felt it was necessary to go beyond simply moving seniors with compassion; she knew she needed to back that care with extreme knowledge and methodology. She achieved certification from the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM) to offer a complete service that includes home setup, downsizing, estate sales, and assistance for adult children who are unable to be present during the move. She ensures that every senior move in Monterey County is managed with the patience and dignity required to help our community’s most vulnerable settle into their new lives.

For Marlene, Mod Movers was born out of perseverance. Living in Marina, CA, she worked two jobs day and night to make ends meet, dedicating every spare hour to proving that this business model could work. After a year of successful “proof of concept”—operating with limited equipment but unlimited heart—she officially launched the business in March 2017.

Jesse Corpus serves as the financial anchor of Mod Movers. His professional foundation is built on over 20 years in the mortgage banking sector, where he helped families navigate the financial side of homeownership. This deep understanding of the housing market makes him a trusted partner to real estate professionals and a natural Affiliate of the Monterey County Association of Realtors. Jesse brings a level of professionalism and corporate structure rarely seen in local moving companies, ensuring the business remains a stable, fiscally responsible partner for every client.

The Vision
Jesse and Marlene always knew they were destined to build a family-owned business. The journey wasn’t easy; while working two other jobs, Jesse spent his nights and weekends laying the groundwork for the company. His goal was to establish Mod Movers as a pillar of the Monterey Bay community before ever resigning from his corporate career. That dedication paid off in March 2017, when the family went “all in”.
